At the Intersection of Faith and Emotional Wholeness

We know it’s been a tough year! Lisa Pinney from the Pittsburgh Transformation Center joins Beth Diemert in discussing self-reflection, living intentionally, and having a healthy work/life balance while keeping Christ at the center of it all. Lisa shares how she uses her own personal experiences to help others heal, and how we can separate “being” from “doing” in order to best hear and receive what God wants to give us.

New Initiative Inspires Pastors to Advance the Pro-Life Cause

With many branches of the pro-life movement, it is important to recognize the ways we can work together utilizing our various strengths to achieve the ultimate goal: to make abortion unwanted today and unthinkable for future generations.

Rev. Arnold Culbreath joins us to discuss a new initiative for pastors nationwide. He expands upon the Jeremiah 1:5 project’s goals to increase awareness of abortion and its impact on the black community, to decrease the favorability of abortion, and to reduce the number of abortion providers and the number of abortions in the black community.

Pregnancy Help Appreciation Week – November 9-13, 2020

Pregnancy Help Appreciation Week was designed by Heartbeat International to honor those working within the pregnancy help movement. Through their work, women and men receive the compassionate support they need when facing a life-changing decision. They walk alongside families throughout the pregnancy and beyond, blessing them with pregnancy tests, emotional support, ultrasounds, parenting classes, and so much more at no cost.

From volunteers to executive directors, nurses to receptionists, each person working in a pregnancy help organization has been gifted with the passion to advance the culture of LIFE! And for that, we thank you! Join Heartbeat International’s Vice President Betty McDowell and Director of Communications and Marketing as they share the events of this week. This year’s Pregnancy Help Appreciation Week is November 9-13, 2020.

How Elections Impact the Pregnancy Help Movement

If you want to change politics, you have to first change the culture. Pregnancy help works to advance cultures to embrace life in communities worldwide. As you can imagine, this directly contrasts with Big Abortion’s agenda.

Today, we are joined by Jor-El Godsey, Betty McDowell and Danielle White from Heartbeat International to discuss how who we vote for in local and national elections impact the pregnancy help movement, and ultimately the world.

What I Wish My Church Would Ask

Abortion is a very deep and sensitive topic – one that many churches avoid speaking about from the pulpit. However, abortion tends to be a symptom of something much deeper in women, so it is an important topic that should not be overlooked. There are very effective ways to approach this topic along with providing practical resources for those within the church community directly. Betty McDowell, Heartbeat International’s Vice President of Ministry Services, hosts a panel discussion about nurturing and educating church communities while remaining compassionate and helpful.

The L.O.V.E. Approach for Everyone

Cindi Boston-Bilotta interviews Dr. Peggy Hartshorn about her latest book, The L.O.V.E. Approach.

In 1994, Dr. Hartshorn developed The L.O.V.E. Approach manual to explain how Christ-centered pregnancy help center volunteers can build relationships with women facing difficult pregnancies and help them resolve issues and problems in a life-affirming way. It has been in continuous use around the world, taught by Heartbeat International since then (person to person and now on-line).

It was originally inspired by the lessons she learned from painful experience, the hard way, as a young wife, mother, and passionate Christian volunteer, almost 50 years ago.

In this narrative version of the L.O.V.E. Approach, she offers the four steps to you and the larger Christian community in the expectation that you will also find them powerful in your own relationships and ministries.
